Objective: To create a user-friendly and engaging website for Walk and Talk Penzance, a unique service combining guided conversational walks with English language learning. The site needed to attract and inform language learners interested in exploring Cornwall while practising English in a real-world setting, guided by a qualified EFL teacher.
Overview: The Walk and Talk Penzance website project involved creating an accessible and welcoming online platform that highlights the client’s unique approach to English language learning through walking tours around South West Cornwall. The design captures the scenic beauty of Cornwall while maintaining an easy-to-navigate structure that appeals to a diverse audience of language learners, new residents, and visitors.
The site showcases various walking routes, each tailored for different levels of English proficiency. Reflecting the client’s focus on inclusion and practical language practice, the design emphasises clear layouts, cultural highlights, and a natural colour palette that mirrors the local environment.

A custom-built website on WordPress, with Elementor providing flexibility for content updates. The design employs a clean, coastal-inspired colour scheme that reflects Cornwall’s natural beauty while inviting users to explore the services offered.

Numerous icons and images were needed for this project, so with the help of ChatGPT and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator I was able to create some unique to this project.

Each walk features a dedicated dropdown section with route details, including distance, difficulty level, local facilities and potential local wildlife encountered. This structured approach gives users insight into what they’ll experience on each walk.
SEO Optimisation:
Built with SEO best practices, the site uses location-specific and service-related keywords to improve visibility for English language learners and visitors to Cornwall. Optimised headings, meta descriptions, and alt tags support the site's reach and help attract local and international audiences.
